Big Batteries Are Finally Coming Back
I think smartphone batteries have been stuck in a boring rut for years. Apple and Samsung just keep giving us tiny upgrades. Nobody asked for thinner phones. We want power. Oppo is finally doing something different this month. They are releasing the standard A7 Pro and the huge A7 Pro Max.
These phones are absolute units.
The standard A7 Pro launches in China on September 11. It packs a massive 8,000mAh battery. That is just wild. Most phones today barely hit 5,000. It will last for days. You get an IP69K rating for dust and water resistance too. So it is super tough. The back has a very cool wave-like pattern. There is a single rear camera inside a horizontal pill-shaped module. It runs the new ColorOS 16 out of the box. The display is a solid OLED panel.
Then we have the big brother. The A7 Pro Max. This one is even crazier. It rocks a 10,000mAh battery. Yes, ten thousand. It even supports 80W fast charging. You can use it as a power bank. It has reverse charging to power up your other devices. That is definitly a big deal for heavy users.
It is thick. The phone measures about 8.55mm. It weighs 226 grams. That makes sense because of the massive power cell inside. The frame and back are plastic. It still looks good though. It has a high-end vibe.
The screne, I mean the screen is massive. You get a huge 6.78-inch AMOLED panel. It packs a 120Hz refresh rate. Brightness goes up to 1,200 nits. Outdoor visibility will be great.
Inside, the Max runs a Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chip. Performance should be fine for daily tasks. It comes with up to 12GB of RAM. Storage goes up to 512GB.
The main camera is a 50MP shooter with OIS. There is a basic depth sensor too. You get a 50MP selfie camera on the front.
Prices are still unconfirmed for most regions. The Max might cost around 96,000 PKR in Pakistan. It could be around 44,000 INR if it hits India. We have to wait and see. I just like seeing huge batteries again. It fixes a real problem. No more looking for a charger by lunch.
